Easy peasie picture borders for your images.
Do you sometimes post an image , only to feel it lacked that final little pollish. I know we are all supper shure shot photographers on this site and from what I have seen most peoples images dont need any form of enhanceing. However there is always that monthly competition which is soo hotly contested that people like me need every trick in the book to try to get that ellusive win. Well fear not as this quick little tip is a shure fire way of boosting your image from the rest.
A quick Border helps make all the difference to an image. It can focus the eye on the image or make the image stand out more by dividing it from its background.

Well here is the method.
The first thing to do is to ensure you have selected the colour of your border. This is choisen from the back colour swatch.
To change this simply double click the square. This will open a options window with a colour picker and choise your colour, then press OK.
Now select the crop tool and drag it from one corner , diagonaly across your image to the oposite corner.I.e from top left to bottom right. This will put a crop that covers the whole image, or in other words cuts nothing out. You will notice that you will have adjuster handles on the corners and mid point of each side.
If you drag one of the corner handles out away from the image whilst holding down the alt (option button on the mac) you effectively enlarge your canvass.
when you now press enter or confirm the enlargement by clicking on the tick in the tool bar, the gap that was between your image and the new size of the crop will be filled with the background colour you selected.

There is actually an easier way.
Just press ALT+CTRL+C, and increase canvas by how wide you want your boarder. Job done
