settings to take pic at different location & time

hi ,recently i took photos at night for christmas lightings but i faced some problems related to settings,i set to sr auto but still pictures r not so clear, later i changed settings to check but messages r coming set shutter speed ,aperture ,iso settings .i have no idea which settings to use and what settings to use for diferent location & time .i go through manual also but no sufficient info on that .

You would have got more response if you had posted this in the technical forum, see the left panels.
This section is for features, often in the form of instructions for projects. You could move it to another area and delete this entry.
I am not sure what you want to know, but it seems to be related to exposure.
When you re post to another forum please post some pictures to illustrate your problems.

I had purchase F550EXR. The GPS function does not work. I take picture in Des Plains , IL. and at Melrose park, IL. The cmera info on the picture still said it's Calhounh, Mississipi. Please help.
