The blog is very colourful and might have negative effects on your eyes or good taste for some time. I take no responsibility for long lasting physical or moral damages!

Ok, after these necessary warnings we can proceed. Last Saturday, Hamburg Germany. The event - Schlagermove 2012. The organisers claimed 500.000 people watching, the police said it were only 300.000.

'Schlager' (direct translation - hits) were a German phenomenon during the 60th and 70th. At that time only few people understood English and the cultural institutions still tried to protect the youth from negative influences of the UK/US pop culture. Schlager were songs with German texts, most of them extremely stupid and light hearted. Easy to listen to and easier to forget. The thing died and nobody did care moan.

Some years ago people who were not even born during this period discovered these songs and made techno versions of some and later on even started to air some of the best sing along versions in clubs or in public. This Schlagermove movement is the end of the revival - i hope. Strange people gather in strange clothes and drive through cities on big trucks blasting strange music - perhaps the main element is drinking lots of beer Smile

After the move they normally go to clubs or festival areas and go on partying. Logically this Hamburg move started in a wide open area, took a tour to the tourist harbour and back to St.Pauli with its clubs...

Enough text - get a beer, let's party

45 of these monster trucks packed with people and music gear..

Come on ladies, you can do better...

Let the guards lift of the barriers we don't want no accidents except of a few losses of hearing..

Lets check the gear - hats checked!

Glasses - no sorry, wrong model, this looks more like carnival

This is perfect!

Shirt - very good (Where do they get all this stuff from?)

Hair - excellent! In the 60th everybody had it this way :)

Total performance - 9 points. The hair can be improved!

Do you see this little carpet under the lamp? This is so 60th...

A quick photo before the thing gets moving

Good that my granny kept some of her old dresses..

Good he was only the co-driver ;)

funny costumes but wrong event

Anybody knows what that means?

Let's check the axes.. let's all jump up and down for the next song....

All photos with my S200EXR, Vivia mode, most with EXR dynamics mode.

All photos edited to level out the somtimes extreme contrasts

Hi Uwe. Just like your profile says ' Isn't the world big and colourful?' It certainly is. Wonderful colourful candid compositions. Just love the colourful characters and it certainly looked a fun entertaining event and the weather seemed glorious too. Brilliant angles and perspectives to capture natural poses and love the bubble shot on the float. Excellent Uwe and a most enjoyable interesting photoblog. I enjoy seeing your colourful world through your eyes and interpretation Uwe. Thanks for sharing Smile

Hi Leon,

yeah, they took some time to get going but this was only around 15:oo - 16:oo. The move was to last 3+ hours and i bet most of them went to parties afterwards which were to last until 3:oo next morning so they had to plan their resources Wink

It is a hard job having fun..

Brilliant, Uwe. Only trouble is, I'm seeing coloured spots in front of my eyes three hours after I looked at it for the first time. Wink

I should have paid more attnetion to the warnings and worn my shades - this is probably the most I've needed them so far this summer and it's 23:00.

Nice set of pictures - thanks for sharing, made me chuckle Smile

Interesting event and interesting set of photos. I would like to see that some day.. I remember german "rock and pop" songs from the 70s, well, rather horrible for me.. hope you didn't drink too much beers during "afters", or did you dance like a goeland ? ha ha..

In spite of my rage, I'm still a rat in a cage..

There are some great colourful shots here, the outfits weren't authentic, but genuine sixties and seventies clothes would be too precious to wear here, maybe too much beer slopping about. Thanks Uwe, that brightened  this dull rain soaked day, just wish I could have joined in the fun.
