Wild Welsh Waves
Tresaith is on the west coast of Wales, between New Quay and Cardigan. it is a favourite haunt of surfers and families and on a calmer day from this you can often spot seals and dolphins close to shore.
When my husband got home early from work on Wednesday I pestered him into taking me to Tresaith which is just a fifteen minute drive away. The day was overcast but not cold and I was not expecting the pictures to be of the best quality. When we arrived I was delighted to find the sea on its best behaviour, sometimes the wild weather reflects my mood and this was one of those days. I think I have plenty of pictures to paint from. I can dramatise the sky a bit but I love the wet rocks and seaweed and the reflections on the sand.
The colour of the seaweed against the rocks looks as though someone has gone beserk with a pot of green paint.
I perched for ages trying to capture the surging spray against the rocks and have many shots taken just too soon or too late; this one is just right and I didnt even get too wet in the process!
I just love the power in this one, it was great standing on the rocks with the wind whipping my hair but the old fella got a cold head and, once we had our fill of photographs, we took refuge in the pub for a cup of hot chocolate.
The opposite bay, rockier and just as picturesque. The day was terrific, totally invigorating, making me tingle all over. When I return on a calmer day I will take some more to contrast the difference the sun makes.

Very nice blog. Nice pictures! Crisp and clear.
Also, on the first picture with the "green paint" it looks very much like a collie has been painted on the rocks on the right. It looks very spooky and quite 3D.
Nice photoblog, and it's nice to see more people having more than 1 picture in a blog.

Hi Judith, I liked your photo's, very similar to what I would have taken, there's lots of material there for your paintings, two interests that run along side each other? I would be very interested in the paintings, probably a future blog? Thank you for sharing.
