Westonbirt National Arboretum Gloucestershire April 2010
With a lovely hot spring day myself and she who must be obeyed decided to take advantange of the good weather and go out for the day to Westonbirt and walk around the woods and fields. Here are a selection of my best shots from the day. I dont have green fingers and dont have a clue what any of the trees or flower buds are lol, Some of them make nice photos IMHO.
Starting off in silk wood

The clear blues skys of 17th April helped bring out the pink blossums colours some closeup macros shots later in the blog........Keep reading.

The clear blue sky brought out the pink colours in the next selection of shots.

standing under 4 trees i took the next shot

my favorite part of Westonbirt is the National Japanese maple collection (I Thnink). Lines of trees in rows. Dont think my photos do them justice.

The old Arboretum of the park has a bit more colour and after a picnic in the grounds i set off again with the camera for some more photos.

and my favorite shot of the day

and one final one of me and she who must be obeyed

Excellent blog, love the macros against the vivid blue sky and the path lined with trees. Some lovely shots and a good talk through too, seems like an ideal place to visit!
Thanks for posting.

A good blog. Nice photos, particularly the comma butterfly, a rare sight so early in the year.
