Furrykidz ferretrescue..
Submitted by Harpyimages on Sun, 16/05/2010 - 16:42
Some of you already know that I run a little ferret foster and rescue here in Barry.
We have 26 meat slinkies in right now, and although its hard work they give me so very much in return.
They are such happy boingy dooky little things that its hard not to get sucked into the happiness.
These are some of the long term ferrets we have right now..and trust me, ferretography is a LOT harder than I expected , they never stay still

Good photographs. Well done for fostering these animals. If let loose in the wild they could become a problem to domestic pets, although I suppose irrisponsible owners still do.

Sadly the vast majority of ferrets that get let loose or escape tend to die
They dont have the hunting instincts of their polecat ancestors, so usually end up either starving to death or falling pray to a larger animal or cars etc.
I have had a couple brought in to us over the years that have been found as strays and they have always been in terribly poor conditions..

Great blog, with great pic's, Shanea. Especially liked the one that looks like a pine marten #9 I think, beautiful anyway. Well done for an interesting blog, and thank you.

Hi Shanea
Smashing shots of these wonderful animals. I had no idea you did this work. Much respect to you.
Thanks for going to the trouble of putting this all together and posting. I love the expression "ferretography" hehe
Cheers

Although not in my favourite top ten, I do love to see these animals at our local show.
They are just so inquisitive.

Well done you, for loving the unloved.

You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.

Well, I don't think they are ugly.....they are beautiful creatures and so intelligent.
Found a stray ferrett in my garden many moons ago and after some detective work with the RSPCA it was reunited with its owner. They were both very pleased to see each other!
You are doing a fantastic thing here. A real effort but it must be so rewarding with the love they give in return. Keep up the good work!
