Fujifilm X10
My First Splash Blog with the X10 & Strawberries Cream & Water
My First attempt at dropping strawberries into water and cream using the X10 its not about i how did it its the effects i created there is no photoshopping at all these pics are straight out of the camera. I setup a white table with two studio lights either side and remote flash trigger on the x10 it is quite difficult to get the lighting right a lot of trial and error and adjusting the lights

First i thought i would try water then move onto the cream, This one the strawberry is on its way down to the glass

First attempt not quite right i must have moved the camera on point of impact

Another strawberry on its way to the glass

A better attempt i think

Another splash it is amazing how different to splashes can be

Another effect of the water

For this one i moved the camera closer to the glass

Now for the cream all shots were hand held so you can guess it wasn't me dropping the strawberries it was my friend Gill this one is on its way to the bowl of cream

Not a splash in site this one stuck on the rim of the bowl i think i need a new strawberry dropping assistant

After giving Gill a stern telling off lol Bullseye this strawberry hit dead centre what an amazing effect

After the splash the effect from above after the strawberry had settled in the cream i wonder does this look abstract enough for the competition lol

A strawberry on its way to the bowl i was only using single shot so there are no sequences i thought i would snap some strawberries after they were dropped

another one bang on the button and a different effect

Another one from above after the splash

Just to finish off a couple of M & M Shots

The last shot i thoroughly enjoyed that best two hours i have spent in ages and the strawberries and cream tasted amazing at the end
Hope you enjoyed my Splash blog as much as i enjoyed making it

'Like' this very much Gez, some lovely shots, and obviously the benefit of being able to eat your subject afterwards.

Great blog Gez, just my style. Looks like you had fun and you certainly got some fantastic photos. I'd suggest a little crop to some and maybe a play with levels to turn great shots into amazing shots. Something else I've seen that you might like to try is dropping the strawberry into cream on a spoon instead of a bowl. The ones I've seen are amazing.
Keep it up mate, great work.
