I have decided to replace my competition entry as my previous shot "The Glorious Dead" I now think was an insensitive placement on my part. One comment made me think seriously as so many of our troops are currently in action overseas. My thoughts were purely based around the memorial to the 1st and 2nd world war. I was not trying to be controversial but feel I may have overstepped the mark and offer my apologies to anyone who was adversely affected by it. I just couldn't think of anything more appropriate at the time.
I offer this shot as an alternative and will try to think a little deeper in future about how my images will be portrayed in the light of the subject. Sorry my Fuji friends

This is a beautiful image, gorgeous animal, TVBOL, regards Ann
Also I would like to say that I am NO longer going to give Stars on a comment, it seems to cause too much animosity among members, SORRY, Fuji don't take any notice anyway, they choose their own. I have been a member on this site since it first began, but now its just not the same anymore.

I just love the way the paws are crossed in complete relaxation. Plenty of detail, I would liked to have enlarged it a little more, but hey ho, such is life!
Phil, if you don't mind me saying, I find the plant to the left a little distracting, but then who am I!

What did you do to get that expression - feed it a bucket of cream? I think a tighter crop would do it more justice - a good lump off the left, a little off the right and top to balance and maybe clone out that insistent green thing?

I think your first post was a better picture and to be honest I didn't see the comment that made you take it down however I really didn't think it was controversial of you to post that anyway. If anything I would have supported its inclusion as a fitting reminder of our ongoing casualties (Our Son has been out in Afghanistan and will no doubt be back there again before its over with)
This one is still a grat picture though and once again you got your model to pose just right!

A very thoughtful composition Phil which adds a lot to the impact of the photograph. That little splash of green just perks the whole thing up, Excellent.

Great image Paul. Your pic is even better when enlarged and I love the way he casually crosses his paws. Thank you for your comment on my picture as well and the very best of luck to you.

An interesting observation by James...........There are strange flashing pixels appearing when you enlarge the shot. This has just started happening and has nothing to do with the image which was uploaded. Very odd !!

The cat that got the cream.......you and the Lynx! A wonderful photo opportunity very well captured as always Phil. The bush in the foregound doesn't bother me. It gives a sense of environment and the colour compliments the beautiful fur of the Lynx. Wonderful to see it on this glorious animal rather than on the back of some idiot with more money than sense and no conscience.
