How can such a calm and peaceful view have so much detail to look at!? This is a beautiful image Angie, I really like the colours and the composition especially the birds and the surface of the water. Just gorgeous.

An incredibly relaxing image with such a softness to it. I especially like how you managed to capture the birds in flight. A very well balanced shot with a great perspective.BOL Angie.

Lovely scene. Like the subtle colour and tones. Like the grid llines of the jetty from this viewpoint and how it leads to the yacht at the end.

Great shot on theme what a shame with the wood across the walkway distracts like James said and it may have been better if cropped off the right and a little off the left to have the wood as say, more of a frame but that's just my view, nevertheless this doesn't distract from this being a fabulous image well done...

Good luck Angie......

A good pic but I reckon it could've been better if you had seperated the bar they are sitting on from the horizon/background. If it was just a few inches above the top of the sail it would be perfect.

Good luck.

A really beautiful image. Lovely colour, light and an atmospheric sky. The birds add to the interest of the composition. Shame the gulls' perch disrupts the line of the trees but a great capture regardless. Well done.

Thank you for your comments.  I like the lighting in your image - it is very calming.  As a few other people have mentioned the bar in the foreground detracts from the overall composition.  Well done and good luck.

Yes, it is a shame about the bar, but what else could you have done, other than take a chain saw to it! It's also busy, but great colours, great interest, great sharpness of detail and fabulous light. Great shot Angie and still worth a four.

Lovely shot, I like the way the birds and railings are picking up the evening glow and the boat is nicely placed off the end of the walkway. I see from the comments there are one or two suggestions to crop here or there when you have obviously spent time on the presentation, a little off the top perhaps but it's so marginal. Good luck in the competition.

David.

Hi Angie

That's a nice picture...the sky has a very dramatic 'feel' to it and in so many ways the whole image is so relaxing!  However I then begin to see a slightly more sinister side to it which increases the excitement as it then reminds me of a scene from Hitchcocks 'The Birds'.  Perhaps you remember where the birds are all gathering on the wires outside, just a few at first then more and more!  A good and interesting image Angie, nice! Oh, yes you're right, the meercats on my picture do seem to be big mates I reckon!

Very nice Angie! A lovely scene and If I may say difficult to know where to take the shot from to keep the boat central to the walkway!

You have done really well to catch the light on the birds and railings etc and it draws you to the background.

Thanks for your kind comment on my effort,it was from the same batch as the three swans !they all look very much the same colour wise

Beautiful lighting, Angie, and a well-set-up photo.  Thank you for your crit of mine.  I don't actually remember taking that shot; I found it among hundreds of photos I took in Cape Province, in South Africa, and, yes, I would like to return and compose the shot rather better, but I don't see it happening in the foreseeable future.  BOL

I love the gentle tones and subtle colours.

So much that appeals to me in this shot. Makes me want to stroll along to the end and just 'still my soul'.

I love it.

Near perfect...oh dear, you may prove Maureen right!  One tiny cc, if I may, just to show I am not besotted, the horizon is a tiny bit obscured by the cross beam on the jetty.  It irritates me rather than distracts. Good harmonious tones however and the eye is led into the distance, it smacks of a golden evening.
