Beautiful image Andy, the sun bursting through the ramparts is caught wonderfully and the colours are so subtle we could happily look at this for hours.
A real advert to come up and visit The Highlands some day soon.

Wow!! This is beautiful Andy. One of the things that does it for me is the way the sun is just going behind the castle and giving out that last brilliant sparkle, it not only ballances up the thirds but it draws the eye straight into the scene. A superb image, no wonder it made the scroller. There are some top shots in this months theme and this has to be amongst the best of those. Good luck with it.

Thanks for all the comments and likes everyone, I have to admit I exceeded my own expectations with this one, I was pleasantly surprised it came out so well shooting straight at the sun although I did shift around a bit to keep the lens flare to a minimum.
Im sorry I missed seeing it up on the scroller but there are plenty other great sunsets/sunrises up there already, a very good month for those of us who like such things.

Super shot, lovely silhouette, lovely interpretation of the theme. Would put this on my wall anyday.
