Like it Pam - see lots like that from my living-room window going into B'ham - no noise - it's the helicopters going over our block that are noisy - especially when the police one hovers overhead around 1am!!

Thanks for comments.

Nice angle looking upwards Pam. Like the framing of the trees at the top but would have cropped the right hand side to the edge of the foliage to give more of an impact.

I like the angle of this Pam. I agree with margaret55 about cropping

Perhaps you would like to give it a try.

I wish I was jetting off on a nice summer holiday Sad taken from a good angle. Cropping it slightly would be a better picture. Still good luck with this.

Thank you for you your kind comments. Yes I have to agree with you Margaret,  and your cropped photo Chris does look much better.  I will crop the origional, I dont think I can do this one or I will lose it.  Thanks for your advise and help.  Pam

Hi Pam, I imagine you laying out on your lounger with a glass of your favorite tipple, when suddenly you hear this great raw of the engines. Lightbulb moment, grab the camera and hey presto, your in the competition.

Then the imagination takes over... warm sunshine, sandy beaches. Great shot, great idea, VBOL. Now to view your blog.

Good shot Pam. I think that your shot has a far stronger composition than the cropped one by the way. If it were mine I'd leave it as it is.

Kev.

I have to say that I prefer the original image too. For me, the plane is too central in the cropped version. Anyway, I like the unique angle that this has been taken and also the framing by the tree canopy.......were you lying on a sun lounger? Well done Pam.

Bit of a neck-craning exercise to get that one.  I think that the original crop is OK, but perhaps with a little bit taken off the right.  Crop or no crop it's a great shot and I'm awfully glad that I don't have those things flitting over my home a low altitude.

A great shot , I always like  some foreground interest like you have included in the composition rather than just having the plane, it makes the picture,

Good luck Pam.

Thanks for your comment on my Cuban train Pam. I too think things improve with age. Far more interesting ( a bit like us really). Good overhead shot of the plane and the trees do make it more interesting. Shame it wasn't a bi-plane with a propeller, though.

Good luck and happy travels.

Well done Pam , i think that your shot is perfectly acceptable, why should you crop it even the best photographers in the world would not be able to get it perfectly central with as much tree on either side as the plane would have come over you at a rate of speed, Leave the pic as it is it is a great shot , well done.

Thanks for comment on my pic Sean.

Reminds me of when I was lying on a picnic rug recently and watching the planes fly overhead and thinking I would love to be in that plane flying to sunny climates. Lovely photo Pam Cool

Agree with Mac, not easy to take a shot of one flying directly overhead. Nicely captured Smile
