‘White Christmas’ was taken in Zell Am See, Austria (20th December 2010).

The mist was drifting low over the lake and was beautiful and added atmosphere. I took the photo in Black & White.

Edit:  Got inspiration from you - canchange it later if people go for lettering as well!!

I'm still not convinced about this black and white malarkey, so have gone for blue! The frost on the trees is good, though.

I rather like the B&W Alison. It makes it look very cold and wintry but yet very bright and beautiful if that makes sense. Good luck with this.

Welcome back, Alison!  There's something incongruent about coming back from the Canary Islands and entering a "white Christmas" photo.  But it is beautiful.  I like the crispness of the hoarfrost on the trees.  I also like the vertical format.

I'm looking forward to your vacation blog....

Hi Alison,

This is quite possibly the most wonderful photo Ive seen, either in here or anywhere else for that matter.  You've managed to capture not only the scene in itself, but the feeling and movement of the cold there.  Absolutely stunning.

Thank you for your comments on my photo, very much appreciated :D

Great shot Alison, love the black and white, very effective, I passed up some flashier more colorful images for my sepia , sometimes, less is more, after all, winter is a cold, stark season and these kinds of shots do it justice, thanks for your comment on my entry, BOL        Joce

This is what would be seen as the alternative seasonal card, B/W is in vogue, it has all the right quality, you did the right thing to present as is, Great, Best of luck.
