Dandelion Root - Organic. Taraxacum offincale.
Dandelion is the most commonly recognised wild flower.Their profuse seed dispersal and rampant roots won’t be defied and sprout each spring. Its name Dandelion is an adaptation of Dent de Lion-lion’s tooth, in allusion to the jagged profile of the leaf margins. Their beautifully delicate globe of helicoptered seeds blow to the winds and is known as the flower clock. Dandelion is a herb of prosperity, health and protection and are a gift of nature.

Terrific macro shot you've taken here, Al. There are so many different aspects of the dandelion to look at and take interest in - especially when the photo is viewed in the "large" version. It's a great capture. Wishing you the very best of luck with it in the Comp.
Di.
PS. Never noticed you crawling about on your hands and knees in my front garden when you took this pic!

Super macro Alison. Nicely lit and focused. Love the detail and textures. Dandelion clocks are so pretty and ever changing to take. I've recently been trying to get them with rain droplets on. Thanks for your comment on mine - it was the patters and looking as George says like a dancers skirt that caught my attention.

Super pattern, made by the fine detail. As a herb, it has other capabilities - never mind dent de lion, the French know it as p*ss-en-lit. I wonder why? (Had to edit for Fuji's puritanical filter!)

Thanks Wendy for your lovely comments. I am delighted to be on the homepage scroller. Thanks to everyone for their lovely kind comments. I wasn't too sure what to enter for this months theme as it was a matter of marrying an appropriate picture to the theme. I took this in macro mode (cannot remember if the Raynox 250 was attached at the time) and cropped my Dandelion picture to get this image. I thought it was artistic and a bit different from the way I usually display my image. The lovely comments confirm I made a right choice this month to enter this. Thanks again for your lovely support. Alison
