Hi

As I am always asking others how it was done. Here is the original picture. It was one of many attempts to be there when the area was free of cars. The trees had to be bare and the light at an oblique angle. It was taken in February in 2007.

It is a fairly monochrome subject and was taken with the intention of reproducing it in Black and white.

The conversion was done using the Channel mixer in Photoshop CS2 in the mono mode. There was some yellow/blue adjustment to darken the sky, some red to darken the whole and improve contrast. Any other adjustment would have been made using the Curves palette.

It has been cropped from the right to balance the composition and eliminate most of the car.

The cables at the top right have been cloned out.

Kind regards,

Chas.

I think I prefer the B&W picture. Wonderful detail with lighting, shadows and texture. Well done! Good luck!

An excellent piece of work, beautifully composed, captured & presented, with a great "how I did it" paragraph. It was well worth the trouble, good luck in the comp.

A lot of "punch" in this image, great conversion/manipulation. Liked.

Wonderful and moody, have a S3 Pro myself, but I don't use it as often as I should.
