Lovely idea, actual photographic merit? I thought this was a photography comp? ... It was shot in red eye reduction flash mode!? Could have been composed so much better. I think the judges are a bit potty tbh.

Keith, I agree. pleasant enough as the sentiments behind it are, there's not much actual photographic skill in taking this shot.

I'm puzzled too as to what exactly the judges are looking for

a really good idea that caught the judges attention obviously this is an amateur competition designed to discourage professionals ,you have to be able to win this competition with any camera out of the fuji range and nothing extra (ie expensive lighting off camera flashes fancy zoom lenses so shots only an slr could get are probably ruled out so so long as it is reasonably in focus which it is ,exposure is okay which it is ,composition is okay ,then it comes down to the idea which is brilliant for the theme and scores top marks and won the competition so take yourselves a well deserved pat on the back for coming up with the best photo and slogan to suit the comptition and anybody who wants to win this competition should get their thinking caps on and come up with something original that best suits the theme.
