Hi Ray
Angie D gave a fairly comprehensive rundown on the rules on a previous thread you can see it at the ref below

Thanks for that Stuart. Thought I would repost them in this thread as the heading/title is correct and people might look here. Think they are going to be needed more now!!
IHC - In-House Challenge
IHCMAN - In-House Challenge, Manipulation
IHC MorE - In-House Challenge Manipulate or Enhance
Daily Challenge
The rules for the 2 IHC's are slightly different - although in both, comments from other partcipants are expected on as many entries as possible.
The weekly photography IHC allows no editing of the photograph at all - except for straightening and cropping. The aim of this IHC is to learn about your camera and its possibilites, and to develop your understanding of photography. The competition is open to everyone and any make of camera may be used. However, because of the No processing rule it has been decided that RAW photos should not be used.
Your entry must be taken after the announcement of the topic. No stock photos. Only one entry - you can ask for opinions before you submit.
You are expected to comment with cc's on as many others in the Registration thread as you can.
There is a separate Discussion thread which enables questions, queries and comments to be made without confusing the Registration thread.
A copy of your photo should be entered in the Registration thread with it's link and 'Mine's in'.
No stars to be awarded to any of the other entrants
The winner posts the next theme and is responsible for declaring the end date and time of the competition (usually Sunday at 6.00 p.m.) and choosing a 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the comp.
That person should also change the title of the IHC from CURRENT to CLOSED.
The IHCMan is for the purpose of exploring software.
The task is set each week according to a Rota, which the person whi is setting the task is responsible for updating each week.
The person setting the task tries to find tutorials for others to follow - but as there are so many different programmes this is not always possible for all softwares.
There is a discussion thread and a registration thread
A copy of the photo is NOT inserted into the thread - just Mine's in and the photos link.
The person setting the task is responsible for posting the two threads, labelling them CURRENT whilst the task is active and CLOSED when it has finished
The IHCMAN does not have winners, as softwares, experience and creativity are variable just the experience and satisfaction of completeing a task. It is therefore important for CC's to be given by as many folk as possible who are also entrants.
The resultant image can be something from stock, photoshop brushes, other imagery as long as there is no copyright issues on imagery used.
Could people please post the rules for the two IHC's at the beginning of the task each week - many folk are still not aware of what we are about.
EDIT
As the Daily Challenge looks to have been adopted as a regular event the rules for this are:-
The Challenger should try to set the challenge each evening as soon as their win is announced. The photograph to be entered must be taken between Midnight and 8.30 p.m. of the day of the challenge when, unless the challenger posts to the contrary, the challenge will end. There is no necessity to enter this photograph into your Gallery - the entry in the thread will suffice as it is there all entries will be judged. As with the photographic IHC no manipulation other than straightening and cropping should be done. If the task is a B&W photo and your camera does not take B&W then changing a coloured photo to B&W is allowed. Again, because this is seen as a Photographic challenge RAW files should not be used.
As this is a Daily Challenge there will be occasions when the challenger is unable to conform to a rigid time scale so there is flexibility for moving of times and 'conditions' i.e. originally Paul had specified 10 mins walk from home - that has since changed - so developments can be assimilated.
The person who sets the Daily Challenge should delete the thread after around 2 days to prevent the other two IHC's being lost among the daily threads.
Photos must be taken between 12 midnight and 8.30 p.m.
Winner to be announced at 9pm approx.
The winner to set the Challenge as soon as possible - 10am he next day at the very latest
If 1st fails to set the challenge by 10. a.m. then the 2nd place takes over the daily challenge. (Or 3rd if neither first not second available).
No manipulation - cropping and straightening only allowed.
Any other decisions regarding changes to the rules for the day is the Judges decision on the day. (i.e. Can I change my photo?)
Thread should be deleted 2 days after being set
These rules for the Daily Challenge should be posted at the beginning of each day's challenge. This is because newcomers to the IHC's need to know how the challenge operates and it is a reminder to the participants that they should check at around 9 p.m. to see if they are due to set the next days challenge.
IHC MorE - In-house Challenge. Manipulate or Enhance
EDIT with the addition of a new challenge I have added the rules as they are at present so that newcomers are able to have all the rules in one place.

IHC MorE WEEK # (put number here) CHAT THREAD
This thread should be used to post test (non entry) photos.
All comments about entries and test entries should also be posted here.
Please leave the ENTRY thread clear for entries only.
Addendum
Just adding this here at the end as it seems there may be some confusion about which Challenges should be deleted.
The weekly challenges should not be deleted as both the weekly challenges are kept - they may contain some information which folk want to refer back to. ONLY the Daily challenges should be deleted and that is because they are meant very much as a 'moment in time' challenges and once done they are deleted.
So for everyone IHC and IHCMAN stay in the Forum and are marked by the challenger CLOSED, which helps to prevent confusion. The Daily Challenges should be deleted by the challenger after 2 days. If anyone needs to know how to delete a thread in the forums please ask on here as most folk around will be able to tell you.

Angie did we also ought to add that the thread for the daily challenge must be deleted after a couple of days to avoid clogging the forum. I added it when it was my challenge but it seems to have got lost along the way.

Because I don't participate in these comps I wasn't aware stars were not awarded. I just saw them in the gallery and treated them as any other image. I will watch out in future and comment without stars if it's IHC

Folk who don't participate can give stars if they wish - it is not a 'site' imposition - simply that if you are participating then for the IHC Photography there is a judge and giving stars could (not would) cause some ripples in the calm waters of the judging. And for IHCMAN stars are not awarded as the functions of different software and the skills of different participants mean that it is not a level playing field. Interesting that Fuji do not agree with us in the main competition!!!!!
