Submitted by ditzeeblonde on Mon, 13/12/2010 - 20:28
Hi Guys
I am a complete novice & was lucky enough to get an HS10 in oct. I tried to take a video of my daughters nativity play & its really dark... have I done something worng? or is there something that I need to be doing?
Many thanks Linzi. x

Hiya Linzi
The HS10 isnt brilliant at low ligt video really, especially if you zoom in, its only really meant for good light video recording which is a real shame.

daz is right.
Video for a camera is an after thought or more of a bolt on. That's not to say they can't be good but anything involving low light levels costs a lot of money. Even professionals don't shoot video in the dark without adequate and planned lighting unless using specialist low light cameras.
I love low light photography but unless what you are taking is still it gets very expensive.
I have two tutorials regarding low light photography one of which covers the problems assosiated with this type of shooting.
