hs10 focus beep

Hello,

My HS 10 seemes to have a problem...

Quite often , after the camera has automatically focused, and made the ready-beep sound, I press the shoot button but no picture is taken. I then have to refocus & wait for the beep again. I miss lots of shots due to this.

Does anyone know if this is common please, or a fault with my camera?

Thanks...

From what you have said it sounds as though you are not holding the shutter half depressed - that may be the way you have phrased it, but if it is the case that is the reason. You have to keep the shutter half depressed, and the focus should be visible in the viewfinder - personally I wouldn't rely on a beep, but what my eye can see, then fully depress the shutter.

thanks for your reply.

I am depressing the button halfway, in order for the camera to focus, & for the beep to sound.

When the image is in focus the beep is automatic.

Sometimes, after holding the button halfway down to focus, the picture is not taken even though it is in focus & the camera has told me it is ready to shoot by beeping.

I'm not sure how to focus automatically without having the beep. It won't shoot without the beep in fact, or sa it seems.
