Nice to see so many old friends still posting! I've added a few photo's to my gallery while I was here. Hope you will spare the time to have a look and leave some feedback. Oh, by the way, my photography business is doing really well, 16 months in and loving it. I still regard this site as my starting point and thank everyone who helped by giving feedback and help when I needed it. Thanks to all involved :)

Hello,I've bought a f700exr camera hoping the pictures would be astonishing. However, the image lacks quality: the picture resolution looks like an aquarelle painting (when zoomed in).I also have an old s5100 camera, and it's pictures are not much worse as the ones taken from the newer camera.

Afternoon all,I have added a couple of peacock photos to my gallery from a visit to Kirby Hall last weekend. The pictures are the links. This one I tweaked a little contrast and colour wise though not a huge amount, cropped as well for the close up as originally had a reasonable amount of the plumage but not enough to make sense - looked scruffy hence the crop.

This thread is created so that people could get some decent feedback on their photos. I hope it will help a lot of you get some constructive criticism on your shots. Please read the rules before posting! The rules:1. Posting an image here should be done like in the MEG - with an image and a link to the gallery.2. Critique will be happening here in the thread! Although you could leave personal messages or comments in their galleries.

From the last person that posted a picture from someone else's galleryIt's very simple to play, all you do is look at the gallery of the last person that posted and pick your favourite picture from their gallery and post it here.First some instructions on how to do this because not everyone knows. There are several ways of doing this, this is my way1: Hover your mouse over the persons name, right click and select "open in new tab" (if you are not using a tabbed browser, use "open in new window")

Hi all,I've not long had my HS30EXR. Its my first camera that isnt a compact point & shoot type. I've managed a few ok still shots of my dogs and some flowers using macro but taking it to a rugby match I wasnt entirely sure which settings so I went for the EXR mode after taking some advice from the photographer in the camerashop. Here's a few pics I uploaded before: http://www.myfinepix.co.uk/gallery/1067515

I better stop this before I turn into a HDR whore :-) Hopefully light enough touch to make them interesting without them being OTT.Click the pics to goto the Flickr page where you can see full size versions.

Hope you're all having a great Saturday morning.I went out to Newcastle in the early evening yesterday to try my hand at street photography for the first time. I didn't do too well I think taking photos of strangers that are unaware will take a bit more practice.

Hi all,Sorry another one I am searching for feedback on. Thank you to everyone who has commented so far on other posts - I am trying to take in everything and process accordingly so sorry if I haven't replied to all as yet.I have played around a little with colour editing - only on a focal black and white so nothing major - but wondered what people thought. The photo can be found at:http://www.myfinepix.co.uk/gallery/728788/460921The original is below:

Was out a drive the other night so decided to stop as the sky's were so clear. Quite happy for my first attempt at pics in the darkness. No light pollution for miles. I set camera to manual. ISO to 100, aperture to lowest @ 2.8 and exposures from 20 to 30 seconds. http://www.myfinepix.co.uk/blog/997209/586184 Not quite sure the settings I should have used. I know higher ISO should be used but I felt they were more 'grainy'. Unless higher ISO and aperture? Any feedback appreciated as heading out again next week and want to get things spot on. Cheers.

Hello, I was listening to one of the many podcasts I subscribe to today while driving between jobs. Anyway, on the "This Week In Photo", (TWIP) podcast there was an interview between the host and a couple of guys from a site called (no laughing at the back!) Big lens fast shutter. These guys allow posting of sports images to their Flikr Group then provide a video feedback session of that months submissions. The only criteria is that you have a thick skin. If an image is poor, it'll get a lashing; if it's OK then they do say so.

Bought some cheap ND filters (2,4,8 ) to have a play about with. I seem to be obsessed with moving water pictures,so on brighter days longer exposures ended up over exposed. They certainly make a difference. Not that i'm any way an expert as this is only my 4th time out taking pictures whilst out a quick drive.http://www.myfinepix.co.uk/blog/997209/580236

I couldn't help it, I just had to post this version of "Under the Pier". I've had to take a couple of days off of work and I was tidying up some photos on the laptop. I came across this one and wondered what it would look like in HDR. So, I put it through Photomatix and got this. Pretty cool eh :-) I'm not usually a HDR man, but just occasionally a photo comes along that calls out for some, this is one of those photos I think.
