40 Photo Gallery Limit?
Submitted by kanyekayne on Thu, 10/09/2009 - 09:07
this morning i wanted to upload a new photo, and i clicked "Add a Photo" and it said unfortunately you have reached your limit, i had 44 images in my gallery, 4 of which were added last night, but this morning, i had to delete 5 older photos in order to upload 1!
why such a low limit!?

It's based on volume, the larger the file sizes the less you can squeeze in. Originally it was 30 Mb. It was thought that its been extended, not sure. But if you managed 44 you did well.

Currently have over that (and this is a secret, as if Fuji find out they will all go). But not sure how this is all working - and I did resize some but recently not doing so.

well i know i had well ver 30mb of photos, and still do... but it seems that the most you can have is 2 full pages of 20 images, do you think this might be extended at all?
i have so many photos i want to upload but now cant

I have 2 full pages of 20 and another page. It must be the size in mbs that counts.
I made this point a while ago and the ammount you put in, has changed since.

Forty photos is a fair amount when you consider that this should really be a gallery of your best shots. Unlike other camera manufacturers, Fuji have invested a not insignificant amount of money over the years to provide the MyFuji and now, MyFinepix sites with a view to showcasing their cameras and the work of their customers (nobody belives that they are being completely altruistic).
As such, it is a good for members to practice "self-criticism" and get used to displaying their best work, and striving to improve on it. Just as if you were a member of a camera club, or entering a competition, you would put together a small portfolio of your best shots. This site should not really be regarded as free storage or back-up for all of your images, there are many other places on the net which cater for this.
Just my opinion, but it is already difficult enough to plough through the thousands of images that are on here.

I agree with you Derek even though the photos I have in my gallery are nothing special they are the best I have at the moment. Until I get out and about more and learn what my camera will and wont do and I learn the techniques of taking realy good photos. Also picking interesting subjects

I delete things regularly just to keep things fresh. I also agree with Derek. I have photobucket for mass online storage (although they recently halved what they give for free space).

I have managed to have 50 images on my gallery, but am I missing something re deleting images?
When deleting a series of images I keep ending up at the Home page after each deletion and then have to go back to my gallery and do the next.

I agree that 40 is plenty. I recently tried to delete a photo in My Favourite but couldn't. How can I delete this? It was someone else's photo which I liked and saved to My Favourites.

You have to click on the photo to view it in its owner's gallery - then you'll see under the photo, to the right hand side, a clickable link saying 'un-favourite' (it's in the place where you originally clicked 'favourite this')
