I have just created a photo feature discussing the new method of creating HDR images using Adobe Lightroom. The advantages of this method are less noise, simplicity of processing and a very natural look. Instead of tone-mapping you develop the 32 bit file just like a RAW one, which means you have greater control of the end product. You can read the article here and see some of the results.

I have been sent an e-mail re firmware update for my Fuji s2980. I find that when I download this onto my pc, it comes as an adobe acrobat fie and will not do anything at all. I contacted Fuji who sent me an SD card, unfortunately the little box it was in has a sticker on saying 'faulty'. I have contacted Fuji on numerous occasions to no avail. I am loath to put this card in my camera in case it causes damage.

Windows 8 is driving me crazy. Wish I had Windows 7 back. I see no improvements in Win 8. Just a lot more things one has to fool with. Spent hours making some of my programs compatible With Win 8. The flashy colrful screen that shows your programs in fancy squares is an overlay of the Windows 7 screen. When a program is loaded, it flashes back to the Windows 7 screen. I am in Thiland and Windows 8 seems to not like the software my ISP is using and I keep loosing my internet setup whenever I turn off the computer.

I have a S2950. I know you can change how long the camera stay on but is there any way to stop the screen from dimming? You get about 5 seconds of looking at your shot before the screeen dims and the you have to press the shutter buton again. Thanks.

Arn't computers really frustrating at times.  I've prided myself on fixing most things that go awry with them over the years,  but every once in a while something does not work as it should and I become completely flummoxed.WMP  has decided not to remember recently ripped CD's after the program has been closed.  The next time I open WMP the last few CD's are not listed under Artist, Album or Genre.  They are in my Music folder and this is set as the default location in WMP.

There are some invaluable threads on here, especially for a novice like myself. However there isn't one for colour popping and i guess i'd like to know you thoughts and expertise if you don't mind sharing. Is there a wrong and right way to do it? What do you look for in it? Does it accomplish anything? Am i even asking the right questions. Any help or feed back would be great :)Thank you.

While on a holiday last week, I purchased a Fuji XP20 camera, to use while snorkeling in the Caribbean.  First time out the battery/SD slot compartment popped open while under water.  Needless to say, no photos turned out, only the ones taken before submersing the camera in the water.  Very disappointing.

Anyone tried and used one of these in their S5?, if so, can you recommend a version which works please. Tried the Extreme version today with a 16gb class 10 Sandisk SD card and no joy, didnt recognise a 256mb version of the card also by Sandisk either.

After my first attempt at this effect, it was suggested to try it using magenta, cyan and yellow.  Here is the result - a much more subtle effect.http://www.myfinepix.co.uk/gallery/498548/429051
