Hi all,First post here.It doesn't seem like much fun going out with the camera in this grotty weather. But when it does clear up, I definitely suggest going to Richmond Park. Not only are you able to get some nice photographs of the deer [and having been living in London for 8 years after being bought up in the New Forest, they were a welcome sight] but also at this time of year there is quite a variety of birds over the lake.

Starting Sat 9th Feb and ending Sunday 17th Feb .One nearest to me in Chatham Kent can only bee seen publicly on those two days with the better day normally being the Sunday parade normally around 12 noon along the main high street with a ticked event at the local brook theatre afterwards.Further details will be shown here .http://www.whatsonmedway.co.uk/festivals/chinese-new-yearDoesn't last long so make the best of a short opportunity to get some colourful photos .

To get this new section of the Forum underway could I put a bid in for ‘probably’ the most beautiful part of the Country for a day out with your camera – NORTH NORFOLK COASTLINEBeautiful villages with stunning views across the North Sea include:Holkham HallBlakeneyClay-next-the-Sea Weybourne. Bigger resorts like Cromer and Wells next-the-Sea have some stunning architecture. I guess I need to dig out some pictures to prove my point and create a Photoblog

'Brighter than a full moon': The biggest star of 2013... could be Ison - the comet of the century" Get ready for a  once-in-a lifetime light show By the end of summer it will become visible in small telescopes and binoculars. By October it will pass close to Mars and things will begin to stir. The surface will shift as the ice responds to the thermal shock, cracks will appear in the crust, tiny puffs of gas will rise from it as it is warmed.

Had a great night last night wandering round manchester on an evening DSLR photo class with my Canon 60D, courtesy of Groupon (£25pp) after a friend and I had a pretty poor attempt at some night shots. I'm happy with some of the results, the rest were hampered by a heavy rainstorm - a re-visit will definately be on the calendar soon! For those interested (and comparison), I've posted some on my Flickr page (actros66)

Your those of you off to the British Firework Championship 2012 in Plymouth tonight or tomorrow (ive got a table booked for tonight on the Hoe but might seek a couple of pics if i can) heres some good tips from National Geographic:Turn off your flash and set your camera to manual mode. This allows you to control the exposure and aperture yourself. A good starting place for your settings is ISO 100, f/11, at 1/2 second. If the photos are looking too dim, vary the shutter speed while keeping the aperture the same.
