North Wales Meet - 16th October
Earlier in the year I put forward an idea to have a meet in North Wales, probably in August. I'm going to try and firm that up now, if there's enough interest.
I'm suggesting a visit to Caernarfon and the castle on the 6th or 7th of August. It would just be for the day and possibly an early evening meal
Of course if anyone would like to suggest an alternative location/date it can be considered.
Mike
Update 13 AUG: The date for this has been confirmed as 16th October. My suggested program is as follows. Meet at Menai Bridge (10:00 am) on Anglesey and spend some time photographing both bridges. After lunch move onto Caernarfon (8 miles away) where there are photo opportunites with the castle, around the town and the harbour area. The castle is open if anyone wants to visit (there is an entrance fee). As we're really into winter we will not have a lot of daylight time to play with but hopefully we can get some night photography around the castle. Wherever we go I'll try and do some HDR work and explain the process if anyone is interested. Finally, have an evening meal together. If the weather is inclement I suggest visiting Pili Palas, which amongst other things is a butterfly reserve.
Now of course you don't have to stick to the suggested program, if you want to go off and do your own thing no one is going to object....
Mike

Hi there. Geoff and myself have just this minute arrived home safely. We left our wonderful hotel 'The Black Boy Inn' at 4pm this afternoon to start our journey home. It has taken over 5 hours. A round trip of 10 hours in total to get to Caernarfon and back and worth every minute to be with you all at the Fuji meet. Great photo of our hotel where Geoff and I stayed Mike and had a great meal..Right, time for me to sort out those photos now we're home...

Here is a 'snapshot' I quickly took with my Fuji F70EXR camera on the timer and tripod of the Fuji North Wales Meet in the 'Black Boy Inn' in Caernarfon before we said our goodbyes. We had a lovely evening meal in this wonderful hotel restaurant where Geoff and myself stayed two nights. (see Mike's photo above) From left to right...Mike Hardisty, myself (Alison Bruce-Stone) and my Hubby Geoff, Nigel Thomas and his lovely lady friend, Mr Steve Ransome himself and Glynis (Reiki Master)

I'm working on my photoblog. I took over 500 photos in the three days Geoff and myself were in Caernarfon. Hopefully I will post this week. Until then, take a look at a photo of Mr Steve Ransome by linking here http://www.myfinepix.co.uk/gallery/77182/360255

We were still drinking cider in our hotel the Black Boy Inn bar at 3.50pm yesterday then we went for the local bus to go to Bangor where we caught a few trains on the journey home.
