Seems people here have been blinded by the sun light of the horse shot on the scrollerhttp://www.myfinepix.co.uk/competition/entry/610954Tethered to a tree stump, no sign of water or feed, clearly malnourished, ribs and hips sticking out, with a rope round it's neck that would kill it if spooked. And then a description of how the horse panicked when taking the shot, along with horses panicking behind him. Not something I would call worthy of being shown on the home page :-(

Came on the site just to see if I could get past the logging on stage, which I haven't been able to do for a very long time. Not only got on but commented on a lot of shots in the 'weekly' and managed to get one on for myself. It didn't take more than 30-40 minutes, the lot. You good people may have to suffer me a bit more now. Sorry.Jan.

HelloI was just wondering,  we over here in the UK have had forum posts on Robins (Ian's Idea) and now we have our "Tits" forum post, both of which have been very well supported by members.  What do you think if we invited our members from Foreign Climes, to submit photos from their own countries?

Please help these guys in their aim to raise £1,000,000.00 in memory of Drummer Lee Rigby. I know some of you are anti-facebook, so posting this donations link for those who will never see the facebook page.http://www.justgiving.com/RIP-Woolwich-Soldier-FacebookPage

Today started with the good news that a man appeared in court in connection with the Hyde Park bombing in 1982. An incident that I attended. It's finished with what looks like a terrorist incident in Woolwich involving a man who is probably a squaddie from the barracks. Two suspects shot by police are now in hospital. I hope they are in extreme pain.Dave.

.... has just been released. There is a $20 discount until the 31st May - full price will be $49.99 (sorry but I can't do this conversion in my head - if you are interested then Google will do it for you). There are videos available on Youtube/topaz if you want to see it in action. My own thoughts on it are that it is very worth the £20.00 or so that is the current price.

After being so impressed with all the reviews of the x100 I have bought one. I agree with most I think its brillant! So much so I am now thinking of buying the wide angle lens. But I have never seen a users review, an opinion or  demonstration photo using the wide angle lens. There must be a lot of guys out there that can do that so lets have it. Is it worth the money or doesn't the camera need it

First of all, this is the first time in weeks I've been able to get on this site without problems. Usually I've ended up losing patience ang giving up. Looking at some posts I see a lot of the most frequent posters (the so called cabal) seem to have given up too, which is a shame as the techies seem to be tackling the problems.I hope that comment doesn't turn out to be the kiss of death.

Hello, good evening.  I had an email waiting for me this evening:Dear Stephen I work for the Agency that helps to create You Connect for Canon as well as content for the Canon Facebook page. We were impressed by the image “Little Egret Coming In” you uploaded to the You Connect Gallery (attached) and would like to use it across our European Facebook pages. We will, of course, only display your image with copyright accredited to you.

.....a handsome male chaffinch has taken residence and is singing almost non stop from the break of dawn to sunset, ie. pink, pink, pink, pink, pink, pink, pink......I could go on!He's got quite a set of lungs on him and it's actually started to get quite annoying now! LOL How he's got the energy and not worn out his little cheep box I don't know. There is a healthy population of chaffinches in the area but I've never heard this relentless call before. It's definitely the same bird. I'm just wondering why he feels the need to sing continually.

I know this forum is blessed with some fellow red heads, so an article in one of the Sunday rags has prompted me to ask the question......'Have you ever suffered abuse or discrimination because of the colour of your hair or are you one of those people who thinks it's fair game to take the mick out of Gingas (as it's just a bit of fun)?'Over 44 years I've morphed from a full on ginger with green eyes to a darker auburn.

We have recently bought large Lavender plants, and put them around one side of our little lawn.  There are some Aubretia plants too, and a collection of well established herbs and well loved perennial plants. For some reason the Starlings have taken to pecking off the new growth of Lavender and Aubretia and flying off with them.  They cannot be building nests now, and if they were, why Lavender?  They are making a real mess!Anyone have any idea why they are doing this?
