A useful entry for beginners..just a minor point...Some of the terms have been described as for 35mm format. Ref:Quote..

Long Lens
A lens where the focal length is longer than 50mm.

Perhaps a better desciption that would cover all formats...

"A lens where the focal length is longer than the standard focal length."

A 50mm lens on a 6cm x 6cm format, would be a wide-angle lens.

Well done for putting in the effort to help those just setting-out in photography.

I left the lens ref's to 35mm cameras in, because this is still the standard terminology used when discussing lenses and focal lengths Wink It's also the same terminology stored in the exif data of the cameras ;-)

I doubt we are going to get many beginners who even know other formats exist, never mind confuse them with ref to 50mm being the standard.
