Absoloutely stunning Ian. Perfect vantage point and perspective. Love the mirror reflection of the gorgeous tranquil and atmospheric scene. Lovely detail and colours. So much to look at in thumbnail and even more when enlarged. Could see this in a tourist brochure or on a scenic calendar or picture postcard. Well deserves to be on the rolling gallery.

This is as near perfection as I have ever seen in a landscape, the reflections are flawless the light, colours, definition superb. Wondering if you cropped top and bottom or put together a panorama. Fantastic Ian, one to be proud of.

That is absolutely amazing.

The colour contrast between the white tip of the mountains, to the earthy colours of the hill side, and the tinted blue reflection really make this photo stand out. The relflection is a really nice touch to the photo, it gives the whole view more life, but at the same time a sense of calm; this may be to do with the stillness of the water.. It must have been an amazingly calm day for the lake (?) to not be rippling at all!

How did you get the mountains to be reflected into the water so perfectly?

hi i should have put the cc in my point being this is a good photograph not an outstanding one . it is a very beautiful image to start with and you composed it smack bang in the middle of the picture nothing to lead the eye into the frame no foreground interest everything looks a little distant just a little run of the mill landscape  .basically all you had to do to get this photograph was be there (im willing to bet if i picked any ten people off this site and told them to take a photo of this scene nine out of ten would compose it exactly the same)to truly lift this photograph to outstanding more attention should have been paid to composition to make it that little bit different (go back on ephotozine select landscapes and filter editors choice some have 70 plus votes .i hope i didnt offend you i shouldnt really have left that comment because my work isnt what youd call good and its taken too long to try and express what i thought but hope this goes some way bol liv

Reflections - one of my favourite subjects. This has all the elements. I bet you were in awe when you saw this and had your camera with you! (imagine if you hadn't). Because I'm very fussy, and I hope you don't take offense, the one tiny thing I would point out is that the horizon is slightly wonky. If I had taken this shot (which enviably I didn't ), I would have to straighten it in Photoshop. Having said that, well done, lovely shot

I like this shot Ian, It captures the scene well, I always find it difficult to compose a landscape shot when there is so much to include, and there just isnt anything in the foreground to make it perfect. Maybe next time you could get a hot air balloon in the top right
