That's not a Dutch angle, that just the way Angela's home made shelf is!
Of course, now, I have to know, how you did it?!

Thanks for that Ian - emails some times have their uses as do Circular Polarising filters!! An email from Photo Radar had me searching the house yesterday for plastic as I was keen to try out a suggestion in that newsletter. A sandwich of polarising material produces amazing (I think) results.

I knew this was a technique manufacturers use for detecting and analysing stress in various materials. I'd never have thought of using it for an artistic effect. Very effective Angie.
PS This inspired me to look on Flickr and it seems a popular technique.

Thanks Fred for the link on Twitter. I am aiming to do more - different plastics produce amazing results! Just gotta get the Hard disk sorted first.

Cross polarization is very useful but also results in beautiful and unique images like this. This is lovely.

Fantastic shot Angie. I hope they're not made of glass because they are liable to shatter if knocked. Used this technique every day during my career as a scientific glassblower. I explained how it was done sometime last year, to Graham Dicker I think, when he showed an interest in it.
