Just wanted to make it clear that this is in no way intended to offend, I asked in the forums if it would be ok and the general consensus was to give it a shot. I come from a long background of digital enhancement of photos of models and have only recently made the natural progression to producing my own photographs. It was always my ambition to combine the 2 styles and having in the more recent years undertaken more mature themed work I wanted to give it a go myself, and so here we are!.
The picture is in no way intended as explicit, more venturing into the realm of tasteful erotica and as a first attempt any feedback or suggestions are of course welcomed

Has a look of the china doll about it and while it's not an area I've ever ventured into I can't see it being treated as offensive except possibly by any very small minded people
Here are three longstanding members whose galleries you might be interested in having a look at and whose work only ocassionally raise the odd hackle or two !

Nothing to take offence at, and well presented. I'd agree it is a bit "china doll" like, so to me slightly over-manipulated.

I do not think you will have a problem with this type of shot and to be honest it is a refreshing change from the normal types of shot which get uploaded. There are not many members who upload this kind of work (probably Stuart has listed them all) and it will be good to have a fresh approach. You did the right thing in raising the question in the forums and that alone gives members the confidence that you will not take your interest to extreme lengths.
As for this shot I quite like the treatment with just a touch of colour and do not mind the over processing.......as it is all part of the illusion.
As for content.......I have seen more flesh displayed in the local supermarket so can't see anyone objecting.

Thanks again for the feedback guys! Just to clarify in this shot I was going for an "Over enhanced" look and it's great that some of you picked up on the china doll look.
My artwork has always been of a "unrealistic" nature and I have found it provokes different reactions in people as it strays just far enough away from the "normal enhanced look" to be something interesting, eye catching and different.
I do welcome sugestions from anyone for ideas for future project and as always critisizms and praises are all appreciated.

I like what you have done to the face but not sure about the body section .
They seem separated to me but then again this is not my photographic niche.
I don't think this is offencive but I'm intrigued you have not had any female responses so far.

Interesting image, very eye-catching. I like the softness and lighting on the body, very erotic... it's a bit strange because the head appears separate from the body but I think it's your choice so... and the angle is really interesting too, well done...

After it being mentioned twice about the head and body looking detached, I went back and had a look myself and had to agree. This picture is doing so well though that I didn't want to add a new gallery image of what is basically a copy and a minor change. So here is an updated version where I have lightened the neck to bring the head more in touch with the body, hope you like

Geisha meets Page 3. Brilliant, I love the while chalk, china face, it's surreal nature is surely what the picture is about?
Why would anyone find such a photograph/creation unacceptable is rather puzzling. As a woman, had I that wonderful body now. This lady is a thing of beauty and should be applauded.

Jen - Thanks ever so much for giving me a Woman's feedback. You absolutely hit the nail on the head with the "Surreal" comment.
My background is digital enhancement of Models and such and to be honest I found it a tad boring, plus it makes you extremely critical of a persons appearance, so my view when I moved into this area was why not make my artwork just unreal enough to still maintain a "Human" factor but also be unreal enough to hold an interest and allure to my images and provoke different reactions? And having in the recent years undertaken some mildly erotic projects I wanted to combine the different skill sets I had and come up with something true to all of the above.
As for your praise of the models beauty I can only thank you and pass the compliment onto my Wife, as much as it will pain me to have her walk around for 3 days with a swollen head! She is an absolute stunner though and I'm incredibly lucky that she is not camera shy and supports my somewhat "out there" interest in art.

Just a note to all who take the time to view this photograph, if you look a few comments up there is a link to the image in Flickr which seems to be of a higher quality so to see the true piece I would advise having a look there.
As always your comments and feedback are welcome and encouraged

I really like what you have done with this. As everyone has already said I don't see this being offensive.
I like the detailing and the colour of the lips works really well.

A most beautifully composed image Tim. A very impressive composition and delicately portrayed. Your photography is stunning and to be applauded. I appreciate the thought you have put into this image. Superb lighting, focus, technique and the overall finish is inspiring to any photographer wishing to develop their skills in this kind of genre. I for one love your image. The model (your Wife) is so beautiful and this pose presents a soft sensual feel to femininity. Excellent photography Tim. Well Done on reaching the scroller. " I more than like this image, I love it" and have made it a Favourite so that I may link to your gallery in the future to follow your work. Thanks. Best Wishes. Alison

Alison - Thank you so much for your kind comments. In the scheme of things I still very much consider myself an amateur photographer, and so to recieve praise from someone as talented as yourself means the world to me.

Thanks for your lovely compliment Tim. I love photography, it is my passion and I have been taking 'snapshots' for over 40 years and only progressed to another platform just over two years ago when I joined the Fuji site and had my Fuji HS10 camera. I am reaching new heights all the time and enjoying taking photos for pleasure to share with other Finepix members. Thanks again for your lovely message above and I look forward to following your fantastic work. All the best. Alison
