Firmware update FinePix HS20EXR to resolve overheating issue

Firmware update Ver.1.02 for FinePix HS20EXR / HS22EXR digital cameras
 | FinePix HS20EXR cameras running on firmware versions lower than 1.02 have a software bug where they report that they are overheating when they are in fact running at a safe internal temperature. |
The firmware update v 1.02 resolves the problem by adjusting the warning to only display when the camera is actually running with a high temperature.

I checked the firmware of my HS20 and it is Version 1.01. I tried to upgrade to that version, 1.10, that is "linked" above and the message said "New firmware is not to be found" Is my current version, 1.01, an updated one? However, I am experiencing overheating after a few minutes of operation. please note that I followed all instructions for the upgrade. Please advise.

OK. I've made it. From version 1.01 to 1.02.

have version 1.01, have tried downloading upgrade but file FPUDATE.DAT is unable to run/open to transfer to camera.........what do I do??

The firmware update Ver.1.02 incorporates the following item.
1. Improvement of zoom-in and zoom-out speed in playback mode.
2. Improvement of playback (panning) speed for panorama images.
3. Improvement of image quality (sharpness and color saturation).

Just a note for anybody updating the firmware with the camera connected to the PC.Double click on the FPupdatev.exe file.Not the FPUPDATE.DAT file as per the instructions.

That is a good news for all the camera users and this is definiately going to solve the problem of overheating. It did fine for my camera and is not at all problem of heating now.
