Decoupage : make Greeting cards out of your photo's

I like to make greeting cards from my photo's.
They are especially looked forward to at christmas time when everyone has the same greeting cards given. people like the personal touch and the thought that has gone in to making the cards.

Find the right size card for you to make your greeting card base from.
then fold it in half to make your card.

Print out 4 images the same.

9 x 13 cm prints are what I have used

you can make cards any size.

cut out 2 images

the left one will be my background and main photo

the middle bluebell has been cut out from the right hand photo.
this will make my middle bluebell 3D .this is my decoupage image

I have placed 4 squares of double sided foam tape on each corner of the photo I wish to use.
this will make it stand out of the card.

you can use double sided sticky tape to make your photo stick flat to the card surface if you wish to instead.

once double sided tape has been removed. stick the photo to the card you have made.

I have placed 4 pieces of double sided foam tape on each corner of the cut out bluebell I wish to use.
this will make it stand out of the card.

stick the bluebell with the double sided foam tape on to the same bluebell as in the photo on the left

here is a raised view of how the bluebell looks once stuck on the card.

The finished card.

Here you can add a piece of paper folded in half. added in side the card will give you a nice finished area to write your greeting on.

you can stick folded paper in place with double sided tape.

also add a envelope to the card . make sure it is big enough for the finished card to fit in.

Great idea.  Several Christmases ago a friend of mine who is much better at card-making than I, turned several of my photos into greeting cards and gave them back to me for Christmas.  I've slowly been sharing them with friends as the occasions arise.

I can see why your friends would cherish their one-of-a-kind cards.

I do have a question--I seem to have missed what happened to the other two copies of the four bluebell prints....

Hi,

I got so excited to read your tutorial but was dissapointed as there are no photo's to follow woth the instructions.

My other hobby is card making, but I've never thought of using photographs before.
